The North Carolina women's golf team ended the second and last day of the 18-team Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. on Tuesday, finishing in 16th place with a score of 21 over par with a stroke score of 873.
After recruiting the position heavily in recent years, the team has a large group of intriguing young running backs that should have the chance to compete for the lead back role.
As No. 24 in the country, UNC will not have many opportunities to play a higher ranked team this year and they took full advantage of it. The win pushes them to a tie for third place in the ACC with an opportunity to pick up another key win in a few weeks against Wake Forest.

On Saturday night, the Tar Heels will look to regain their form against in-state ACC rival Wake Forest and maintain a level of consistency that has escaped the team all season.
"Just getting stops, that kind of helps our momentum on offense," sophomore guard Alyssa Ustby said. "It’s basketball, shots aren’t gonna fall, so one thing we hold constant is our pride on defense and playing together, and that’s what really propelled us to start producing on offense."
