Viewpoint: Equality will be hurt by unpaid internships

The value of experience should never be question. The fact is, an undergraduate degree — even one from a prestigious university like UNC — is only slightly better than useless if the recipient has never worked in their field before. That is why I am extremely grateful for both unpaid internships that I have worked out.

UNC student body president candidates are impressive

Let’s be honest, The Daily Tar Heel’s editorial board doesn’t exactly have the best record for student body president endorsements. In recent years, despite the infallibility of the editorial board, each endorsed candidate somehow doesn’t make it into office. It’s like we hex them or something.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association and college athletics as a whole have grown and evolved since their inceptions. No longer is college athletics merely a contest devoted to bolstering the egos of Ivy League colleges in rival football games.
