Electric Bus Gives Patrons Education, Entertainment

Entering the circus-like tents of the Experience Music Project's Electric Bus, the museum-goer is met with a cacophony of sound. Hank Williams wails about "your cheatin' heart" over the pop strains of Britney Spears singing " ... Baby One More Time," as Jimi Hendrix's piercing guitar fades into the background. As the ears become more accustomed to this assault, people can turn their attention to the exhibits.

Loreleis Celebrate 20 Years of Song

It was October 1981. Eight girls, all UNC undergraduates, got together to sing at a Morehead banquet. They called themselves the Loreleis, after their favorite song, and they sang that song along with "Sentimental Journey" and other ballads.The audience loved their a cappella vocal harmonies; a thank-you note described them as "eight women who could sound like 50."
