Senior Lizzie Smith, a Rams Head Recreation Center employee, sustained injuries after falling off the rock climbing wall on Saturday at 11:34 a.m.
UNC spokesman Mike McFarland confirmed an accident occurred, and an investigation is underway. Smith is in fair condition and is still in the hospital, said Tom Hughes, spokesman for UNC Hospitals.
The climbing wall is closed until Campus Recreation can determine it is safe to use, McFarland said.
