On a typical day on Polk Place, chaos is inevitable. As you walk on that diagonal path, someone stands behind a table handing out donuts and free coffee. A group of girls in bandanas and bohemian skirts presents knitted frogs and plushies. A preacher shoves a “Jesus Loves You” pamphlet into your hand. You may even find yourself offering your soul and social security number for a “free” chicken sandwich.
As the semester comes to a close, many students find their weeks occupied by project deadlines, late nights at the library and dreaded exam dates.

On Monday, Sunrise Hub at UNC collected signatures in front of Wilson Library for their Green New Deal, which proposes an end to reliance on fossil fuels at the University, comprehensive climate education and a reinvestment in students, staff and North Carolina communities.

On April 17, the UNC Board of Governors Committee on University Governance moved forward with a motion that, if successful, would likely gut diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the UNC System.
