YMCA participates in One Day Without Shoes by walking along Martin Luther King Boulevard with no shoes. One Day Without Shoes was started by Toms Shoes to raise awareness of third world countries who are in need of shoes.

Amy Sanchez goes through the process of adopting "Jodie" a beagle mix.
"We've been looking for a while and for a good fit. I have been checking shelter websites everyday and we thought Jodie was perfect. I like working with shy dogs because most of the time it means that they didn't have a good home before and I like being able to provide one for them. I'm excited," says Sanchez.

Lauren Spoeneman, a freshman Psychology major, does work while camped out in front of Morrison. She wants a room in Teague and has been there since 11 AM Monday.

Laura McCready is a sophomore studying Economics and Comparative Literature from Charlotte.
Joseph Terrell is a junior studying Religious Studies and Anthropology from High Point.
They are running together as Campus Y Co-Presidents.
"We have worked together in the past and we share the same vision for the Y. We talked and thought about it before deciding to run," says McCready.
"We have ideas to make a stronger unifying voice for social justice on UNC Campus," says Terrell.
"I wouldn't run with anyone else other than Laura," says Terrell.

Ernest Dollar, the director of the Preservation Society gives a presentation on the historical Strayhorn houses located in Carrboro. The house was built in 1879 by Toney and Nellie Strayhorn, both whom were born into slavery.
