The breakdown of UNC’s incoming class doesn’t vary much year to year. The percentage of out-of-state students always hovers around 18 percent, where it has been capped for more than three decades. For the past four incoming classes, the range of the middle 50 percent of ACT scores hasn’t budged: 28-33. And, infamously, the gender ratio has tilted a little more female each year, at 58-42, 59-41 and 60-40 for the rising senior, junior and sophomore classes.
