140 West development

140 West is a $55 million development project on West Franklin Street, started by the Town of Chapel Hill and Ram Development Company in January 2011. It replaced a parking deck owned by the town.

The development offers a mix between residential living spaces and retail stores. It was built with the goal of revitalizing downtown Chapel Hill.

140 West hosted its grand opening on April 26, 2013. It stands eight stories and features 140 condominium with 337 parking spaces. It is also home to a number of restaurants and other businesses.
