Tuesday, Oct. 2

At 7:14 a.m. a sum of $166.81 was reported stolen from the safe at Lenoir Dining Hall. Reports state that the incident happened sometime between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The employee who checked the safe Tuesday morning said this is around the third time that something like this has happened, reports state.

A Chapel Hill resident reported damage to her car at 12:54 p.m. caused by a construction barrier, reports state.

Damage occurred when the bumper of a truck hit the barrier, forcing it into the left rear door of her car, reports state.

Damage is estimated to be about $500.

Monday, Oct. 1

EMS responded to a call from the first level of the Kenan-Flagler Business School parking deck at 7:59 p.m. to assist a Carrboro resident, reports state. The incident is still under investigation.

EMS received a call from the Old Dental School at 5:01 p.m. to assist a female who fell in a stairway and injured her right ankle, reports state.

When police arrived on the scene of the accident, the victim was placed on a stretcher and the dental school trauma team was administering oxygen, reports state.

Orange County transported the victim to the emergency room.

A UNC student reported at 10:50 a.m. that several items had been stolen from his vehicle, reports state.

When he returned to his vehicle he discovered the driver's side unlocked and his wallet, along with its contents, and a pair of jeans missing, reports state.

A UNC employee reported at 12:55 p.m. that her wallet was taken from her purse at Beard Hall. The victim said she left her desk between 11:45 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. and returned to find the contents of her purse and her wallet missing, reports state.

Wednesday, Oct. 3

Chapel Hill police arrested Shane Barclay, 20, of 101 Lindsay St. for breaking and entering Lost City Music and Video Store, around 2:30 a.m.

Reports state that Barclay forcibly broke into into the store by kicking in the door.

Reports also state that Barclay removed seven videotapes and stuffed and hid them in his pants.

Barclay faces one felony count of breaking and entering and one felony count of larceny.

He faced a secured bond of $4,600 and was due to appear in Orange County District Court in Hillsborough on Oct. 3.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

Chapel Hill police arrested Mickey Farrington, 17, of 109 Weatherstone Drive for larceny and littering at 6:11 p.m.

Reports state that Farrington is being charged with one misdemeanor count of larceny and one misdemeanor count of littering.

He was released on a written promise to appear in Orange County District Court in Hillsborough on Oct. 29.

Carrboro police were notified at 2:37 p.m. of suspicious conditions at Centura bank, located at 300 Weaver St.

Reports state that employees observed a man trying to look into the vault during business hours.

Reports also state that the man was asking to cash in coins for dollars.

The suspicious man also was asking employees their names and what time they got off work, reports state.

He was described as 6 feet tall, having a large build, missing a front tooth and wearing a tan hat.

Police have made no arrests.

Monday, Oct. 1

Chapel Hill police arrested Roy Bryant, 39, of 1001 Hillsboro St. in Pittsboro.

Bryant was arrested around 6:30 p.m. for purchasing items with a counterfeit bill.

Reports state that Bryant used a counterfeit $100 bill at Game Stop in University Mall.

He was released with a written promise to appear in Orange County District Court in Hillsborough on Oct. 2.
