Students Lack Knowledge About Representatives, Must Be Better Informed

I would like to thank Geoff Wessel for his Nov. 5 column regarding the Student Congress special elections ("Elections Important For Students").

He raised a good point, that students do not have much knowledge about their campus representatives.

I thought it was odd that this was one of the first things I'd heard about student government (besides the "scandal").

Yet for the past few weeks, The Daily Tar Heel has provided many articles about Chapel Hill and Carrboro elections.

Since The Daily Tar Heel is written for, and distributed primarily to, students, shouldn't it include more information about student government?

That would help keep students better informed.

Thank you for your otherwise thorough and informative reporting.
