Fare-Free Leaves Many Students in the Cold In Plan's Early Stages

When I first heard about the coming of fare-free busing to Chapel Hill last semester, I was excited. However, the transition has been a sloppy one.

Changing the names of routes made for a confusing first trip to the PR lot for me, as well as the fact that the route schedule I checked online didn't coincide with the schedule I picked up when I got on the first bus, and worst of all the buses seemed to follow neither. On Monday night dozens of students were quite literally left out in the cold. I had to wait an hour for a bus to come, but other students had to wait for much longer.

I don't know whether it was the weather, traffic or just inept drivers that caused the delay. I understand that there is to be some confusion when rearranging routes and switching to a fare-free system, but the UNC students that fund fare-free busing are not getting what they paid for.
