Night Parking System Remedies Problem That Doesn't Exist

I wanted to address the issue of night parking. I don't think it's a surprise, but I and many of my fellow students are slightly perturbed by this new parking system, to say the least. The article in the paper made this new system sound like a wonderful remedy to a problem that doesn't exist. It seems to me that next year we will have the wonderful opportunity to pay $122 for a privilege we already possess. Evidently these ever-so-helpful permits will allow us to park on a first-come, first-serve basis anywhere on campus after 5 p.m. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that what we do now, for free? The whole situation seems a little asinine to me. In conclusion I would like to say that the "officials" in the paper have given us a package of crap wrapped in a pretty little bow.
