The Tar Heels will play host to the Hurricanes on Sept. 9, 2006, and will travel to Miami on Sept. 26, 2009. North Carolina's game against Connecticut, originally scheduled for Sept. 9, 2006, will be moved to 2008. UNC now will play the Huskies in 2008 and 2009.
"I'm excited we were able to work out a two-year series with Miami," said UNC coach John Bunting. "Miami has a great football tradition and it's important that we continue to play teams of that caliber. It's exciting for our fans, it helps our team improve and it's important to tell recruits we are going to play a Top 10 schedule each season."
Capel Named 3rd Team All-ACC
Jason Capel was named Third Team All-ACC on Monday. It was the first time since 1990 that a North Carolina men's basketball player did not place on the first or second teams.
Duke's Jason Williams and Maryland's Juan Dixon were unanimous selections to the Associated Press' First Team, with Duke's Mike Dunleavy and Carlos Boozer and N.C. State's Anthony Grundy rounding out the team.
Kris Lang was voted an honorable mention.
