- President Bush wants to see action from Yasser Arafat following his condemnation of terrorism, top aides said Sunday. But Bush kept silent publicly on Secretary of State Colin Powell's meeting Sunday with Arafat at the Palestinian leader's headquarters.

Pakistan Rally Turns Against Media <p> - Journalists walked out of a rally Sunday staged by President Gen. Pervez Musharraf after the governor of the Punjab province led the crowd in chants against the media, accusing newspapers of misrepresenting the military leader's election campaign.

World Economy Brightens Post 9-11

- The world's economic situation has brightened of late, given a surprisingly strong U.S. rebound. The International Monetary Fund will release an updated "World Economic Outlook" on Thursday that will serve as the basis for the discussions among finance officials at their weekend meetings.
