Chapel Hill police arrested two men in connection with a beating that took place Saturday evening.
The beating took place at 6:23 p.m. north of 140 S. Elliot Road, near the Burger King in Chapel Hill.
The victim, a 42-year-old man, was kicked in his head and torso while he was lying down, reports state. Reports state that the victim suffered internal injuries, but it is unclear as to how severe the victim's injuries were.
A UNC Hospitals spokeswoman said Sunday the hospital had not admitted him for treatment. Police officials could not be reached for comment.
Police arrested Jimmy Earl Jones, 41, of the streets of Chapel Hill at 6:36 p.m. Saturday in connection with the beating.
Jones was arrested north of 140 S. Elliot Road and is being charged with one misdemeanor count of assault inflicting bodily injury, reports state.
Within minutes of Jones' arrest, Chapel Hill police also arrested Michael John Post, 33, of 1419 Ford Road in connection with the same incident, reports state. Reports also state that Post was arrested north of 140 S. Elliot Road and was charged with assault inflicting bodily injury.
Both men were put in Orange County Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. They were scheduled to make their first appearances at the Orange County District Court in Hillsborough on Monday.
