I appreciate the positive representation of the Holocaust remembrance that helped to offset the condemnation voiced by Matthew Smith on Tuesday. Israel is on correct grounds legally, morally and spiritually to defend itself against terrorism. We need to resist the temptation to "blame the victim."
The Palestinian population has benefited from the presence of Israel -- finding jobs, schools and hospitals to its benefit. Many Palestinians do not join in with Yasser Arafat and stay with the Israelis. Arafat is a corrupt leader who has turned most of his civilian population (men, women and children) into terrorists, leaving them open to be fought against.
They are trained from early childhood this way to hate and attack Israel. They need a new leader who will deliver them from the culture of violence they have been taught.
