Your April 18 opinion piece, "Everybody Get Together," lamented the lack of campus response to the current situation in Palestine. The author noted that teach-ins and other forms of open discussion which had been so evident on campus following Sept. 11 were absent concerning the Israeli response to Palestinian suicide bombings. Students United For a Responsible Global Environment has been working to fill the void.
A teach-in on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in 100 Hamilton Hall. The teach-in is intended to be educational in nature and is open to everyone. So if you have a deep interest in the conflict or simply wish to learn something beyond the daily headlines and media soundbytes, come out on Tuesday and join in.
