APPLES Gives Students Chance to Spend Spring Break Helping Others

Are you interested in making a difference over Spring Break and having the time of your life?

Do you enjoy hiking and the environment? Can you speak fluent Spanish? Would you like to tutor children?

Then please apply to be a part of APPLES Alternative Spring Break. This year's three trips will be better than ever!

Student groups will be traveling to Wilmington, Atlanta and the mountains of Tennessee.

Each location deals with a certain area of service. In Atlanta, students will address urban poverty and education.

In Wilmington, students will work specifically with the Hispanic population.

Students going to Tennessee will perform trail maintenance while spending the week hiking through the Cumberland Gap.

To apply or to learn more about Spring Break, visit the APPLES Web site at http://www.unc.edu/apples. Spring Break applications are due Nov. 1.

This is a great opportunity for any UNC student, and I urge you to apply.
