That's right, this is my final column.
I've spent countless Sunday evenings struggling over what to write about. Sometimes the topic was just there, and other times -- well, hell, that's what Erskine Bowles was always good for.
But no matter what my topic ended up being, my favorite thing about being a columnist this semester undoubtedly was reading the dozens of e-mails and letters to the editor I received each week. I even enjoyed reading the ones where I was labeled a racist, bigot, sexist, homophobe, hate-monger, heterosexist (I'm still confused about that one), ageist and my favorite, a Francophobe (apparently I fear or dislike the French).
However, the vast majority -- as in two-thirds -- of the responses I got about my columns were overwhelmingly positive. Many of you (including a few faculty members) said you were finally glad to hear a conservative voice at UNC and encouraged me to keep voicing my opinions.
I assure you I will, and at the same time, I strongly encourage you to become more involved in promoting our shared values on campus --
