Carolina R.O.C.T.S. Organizing Community Projects for MLK Day

TO THE EDITOR:

Rejuvenating Our Community Through Service is organizing the third annual Day for Service this Monday. It will be one of many programs part of the weeklong celebration of the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This year's program will have two shifts and send students to various sites both on and off campus. Two of the on-campus projects include a blood drive organized by the American Red Cross from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Carolina Inn and a body fat and blood pressure screening running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lenoir Dining Hall. Our off-campus projects include going to the Inter-Faith Community House and doing clean-up at Phillips Middle School. For more information, please visit our site at http://www.unc.edu/rocts or contact Mariam Tisdale at tisdale@email.unc.edu or 962-6962.
