DTH Editorial Cartoon Inflames Stereotypes of Town's 'Post Office Kids'

TO THE EDITOR:

I saw the (editorial cartoon) of the "post office" kids, and I did not appreciate it at all. I do not know what that (cartoon) was supposed to represent, but it seemed as if you were trying to represent us in a bad way. The boy on the right was saying, "So why do you hate your parents?" It's not just us at Street Scene (the post office) that dislike our parents. All kids dislike their parents at times, and I feel as if you are giving us a bad reputation.

People already have opinions about us and look upon us in a bad way; we did not need you to put a cartoon of us in the newspaper making us look even worse.

I feel very offended by that picture, and I would appreciate it if you did not do anything that has to do with us without our permission. Nobody came down here and asked us if we would mind, and I think that is a requirement.

I just want to get across the fact that I felt very offended by that picture, and I request that you never do anything of that sort again.
