Use of Religious Profiling to Fight Terrorism Takes Fascist Approach

TO THE EDITOR:

Last year, several editorials made me wonder about how bellicose people had become. That sense was heightened Wednesday after reading Felix Lurye's column. The inflammatory style of the piece subdued any logical arguments Lurye might have intended. While I don't mind the extra security measures at the airport or post office, profiling anyone based on religious beliefs smacks of the very fascism Lurye would like to eliminate. I'm glad that there was someone who had a more reasonable, though smart alecky, response to Lurye's diatribes. Mr. (Samuel) McDaniel, thank you for showing people are still thinking and not just going along for the ride.
