2nd EDA hopeful lays out arts goals

Kang promotes ability as fund-raiser

The Executive Director for the Arts should reach out to the community and foster dialogue between diverse groups on campus, candidate Emil Kang said Friday at an open forum in the Morehead Faculty Lounge.

Kang, former executive director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, was the second of four candidates to speak in a process to fill the newly created position.

The EDA will be responsible for Memorial Hall, Playmakers Theatre and Gerrard Hall. Whoever is chosen for the position will determine the appropriate use of the facilities.
