Third EDA candidate to hold public forum in Morehead

In a change of scheduling, the third candidate in the final group of contenders for the executive director for the arts post will come to campus tomorrow.

The candidate for the chief arts appointment, who requested that her information not be released, will speak at a public forum from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Morehead Faculty Lounge.

The final candidate, Tony Beadle, managing director of the Boston Pops, will hold his forum Oct. 20.

Student Congress approves leadership appointments

During Tuesday's Student Congress meeting, several students were appointed to serve in leadership positions within student government.

Junior Jim Brewer now will serve on the Student Board of Elections.

Appointments for the Renewable Energy Special Programs Committee were finalized as well. Senior Robin Sinhababu will serve as chairman of the committee, while juniors Nathan Poslusny and Jessica Potter were announced as members.

Senior Claire Anderson was appointed to serve on the Student Educational Broadcasting Board of Directors.

Sophomore Jonathan Friedman was appointed to serve as the adviser to the Freshman Focus Council.

Freshmen Tejan Diwanji and Matt Hendren were appointed to serve as co-coordinators of the FFC.

Kamisha Darden, LaToya Evans, Jonathan Kite, Hilary Marshall, Nicole Murphy, Cecilia Richey, Michael Tarrant and James E. Williams, all freshmen, were approved to be members of the FFC for the class of 2008.
