Fight on Rosemary Street leads to quartet of arrests

A fight on the 100 block of East Rosemary Street early Saturday morning led to the arrests of four individuals, including two UNC students and a University employee, Chapel Hill police reports state.

According to reports, the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in Chapel Hill parking lot 2 at the corner of Rosemary and Columbia streets.

Christopher Daniel Luger, 20, a junior economics major, and Labat Roderick Yancey, 20, a junior in the Kenan-Flagler Business School, were the two students involved.

Travis Jerome Alston, 29, a clerk for the UNC Photocopy Support Services, and Binnie Mack Felix Jr., 27, also were arrested in connection with the incident, police reports state.

According to reports, all those involved had consumed either drugs or alcohol.

All were charged with affray, a misdemeanor, and released on a written promise to appear Dec. 6 in Orange County District Criminal Court in Hillsborough.

Pair of students charged with underage possession

Two University of Miami students were issued citations for underage possession of a malt beverage early Saturday morning while walking in front of Woody's at 175 E. Franklin St., Chapel Hill police reports state.

According to reports, Matthew John Rowan, 20, was found with a 12-ounce can of Milwaukee's Best.

Brian James Stubits, 20, was found carrying an open 12-ounce can of Bud Light, reports state, and was also issued an open container citation.

The two were identified as Miami students according to police reports.

Both students were given Nov. 30 court dates in Orange County District Criminal Court in Chapel Hill.

UNC student charged with assault in bar confrontation

A UNC student was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday and charged with simple assault after a confrontation with a bar doorman, Chapel Hill police reports state.

According to reports, Daniel Markus Andres, 21, a junior political science major, was arrested and charged with assaulting an employee of Off Franklin Bar and Grill.

Andres was released on a written promise to appear Nov. 18 in Orange County District Criminal Court in Hillsborough.

Man arrested, charged after altercations on Rosemary St.

A Chapel Hill man was arrested early Saturday morning at 157 E. Rosemary St. and charged with being drunk and disruptive and two counts of simple assault, Chapel Hill police reports state.

According to reports, Dujuan Rashad Hood, 24, of 705 N.C. 54 Bypass was observed by officers assaulting two victims, a man and a woman, at 2:30 a.m.

Hood was taken to Orange County Jail to be held until sober, reports state.

He is scheduled to appear Nov. 22 in Orange County District Court in Hillsborough.
