Closure of Cameron Avenue delayed until Monday

Contractors have delayed the closing of Cameron Avenue to through traffic until Monday because of cold weather this week.

Through traffic will not resume on Cameron Avenue until May.

Officials in the Department of Public Safety have instructed all N3, NG3 and NG1 permit holders to enter Cameron Avenue from the western end near the Carolina Inn.

East and westbound traffic should use Franklin Street to the north or South Road or Manning Drive to the south.

Pedestrian access will not be affected.

ITS offers new activities for technological education

The reorganization of Information Technology Services has spawned a new group: ITS Training and Education.

The department will offer a variety of educational activities, including instructor-led short courses, symposia, video clips and online scavenger hunts to encourage the development of technology in the office and the classroom.

To enroll in workshops, visit the Web site at http://help.unc.edu/tracs. Officials also request that suggestions for IT learning activities be sent to LearnIT@unc.edu.
