BOT committee gives OK to $64.50 in student fee hikes

The Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees approved recommended proposals to increase student fees by $64.50, 5.2 percent, for both undergraduate and graduate students.

This increase, which would bring the annual fee total to $1,310.02, includes the following hikes:

- $2 in the athletic fee;

- $26 in the health service fee;

- $10.50 in student activity fees;

- and $7 in the student transit fee.

The full board will vote on the proposal during its meeting this morning.

 

Tuition increases for schools get BOT panel’s green light

All proposals to increase school-based tuition received the approval of the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees during its meeting Wednesday.

The full board will consider the following proposals today.

- For the Kenan-Flagler Business School, a $3,000 increase for residents and a $2,000 increase for nonresidents during the course of the next two years.

- For the School of Law: a $500 for residents and a $1,000 hike for nonresidents.

- For the School of Medicine: $1,500 for residents and $0 for nonresidents.

- For the School of Public Health: $500 for both residents and nonresidents.
