- Chapel Hill police arrested a Carrboro man at 2:40 a.m. Sunday and charged him with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon and one misdemeanor count of larceny, police reports state.

According to reports, Quantea Ramirez-Gomez, 30, an employee of the Mediterranean Deli, was detained by police at 452 1/2 W. Franklin St. after police saw him fleeing the scene of a reported assault.

Reports state that police arrested him after the victim and an uninterested third party identified him as the perpetrator of the assault.

Reports state that Ramirez-Gomez had a club on him at the time of the arrest that he used as a blunt-object weapon in the assault.

Ramirez-Gomez was held on a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear today at the first opportunity in Orange County District Criminal Court in Hillsborough.

 

- Chapel Hill police arrested two individuals at 1:21 a.m. Sunday and charged each with one misdemeanor count of being drunk and disruptive and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, police reports state.

According to reports, Natasha Jones, 19, of Durham, and Jeremy “J-Rock” Roberson, 24, of Chapel Hill, were arrested for delaying a police investigation of a fight at Alley Oops Treehouse and were then charged with the drunk and disruptive charge.

Reports state that Roberson was agitated and placed his hand on police in an aggressive manner when officers attempted to make him leave.

Jones and Roberson are both scheduled to appear April 25 in Orange County District Criminal Court in Hillsborough.

 

- Chapel Hill police arrested a local man at 2:15 p.m. Sunday and charged him with one felony count of strangulation, one misdemeanor count of assault on a female and one misdemeanor count of communicating threats, police reports state.

According to reports, Matthew Alan Thompson, 31, was arrested on Bolinwood Drive for the numerous charges related to the assault on his girlfriend after he strangled, hit, pushed and kicked her.

Reports state that Thompson gave consent to a search, which led to a charge of one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thompson was held without bond for the domestic assault charge and was scheduled to appear Monday in Orange County District Criminal Court in Hillsborough.

 

- Weaver Street Market, at 101 E. Weaver St. in Carrboro, was the victim of larceny at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Carrboro police reports state.

According to reports, the store manager called police after the perpetrator took $5.29 of vegan sushi from the sushi bar, bypassed the cashier and sat inside the store and ate the food.

Reports state that the subject, identified as Darby Walker Landy, was attempting to exit the store as police entered. The manager did not press charges but wanted Landy trespassed from the store.

Landy went back to the store and paid for the food and was then trespassed from Carr Mill Mall, reports state.

- The Child Care Service Association, at 1829 E. Franklin St., was the victim of breaking and entering with force at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Chapel Hill police reports state.

Reports state that a subject entered the business through an unknown location and took a Dell computer valued at $4,500 and a vacuum cleaner valued at $110.

 

- A local woman was the victim of larceny from her home on Elizabeth Street at 9 a.m. Saturday, Chapel Hill police reports state.

Reports state that the suspect stole a diamond ring with a platinum band valued at $7,000 from the residence.

 

- The Harris Teeter at 201 S. Estes Drive was the victim of trespassing at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Chapel Hill police reports state.

Reports state that the suspect was trespassed after attempting to take a $4.49 alcoholic beverage.
