Upcoming system president could see boost in salary

The next UNC-System president could receive almost half a million annually for their salary.

In its recommendation to the UNC-system Board of Governors, the Compensation Subcommittee said the future president should receive between $350,000 and $450,000 annually.

BOG Chairman Brad Wilson said these numbers are a reasonable mix between what the next system president will need and how much the state can pay.

“I’m hoping this will help us attract a very rich candidate pool,” Wilson said.

The numbers can still change when they come before the full board for approval.
