University broadcast groups named finalists for awards
Carolina Week and Carolina Connection/WCHL/WXYC are national finalists in the 2005 Collegiate Broadcasters Inc. National Student Production Awards.
WXYC is a finalist for the categories of Best News Reporting for "Allen & Son BBQ," Best Newscast for "Oct. 1 Broadcast," Best Newscast for "April 17 Broadcast," and Best Feature for "Carolina Connection."
Carolina Week is a finalist for Best Sportscast for "11/22/04," Best News Reporting for "B-2 Mechanic" and Best Newscast for "Carolina Week April 27."
Winners for each category will be announced at the CBI annual awards ceremony at the National College Media Convention on Oct. 27 to Oct. 30 in Kansas City.
