  • A UNC senior was arrested on charges of driving while impaired at 3:22 a.m. Wednesday at 600 Martin Luther King Blvd., Chapel Hill police reports state. Candace Lynne Lucas, 21, of 425 Hillsborough St., was seen speeding while she was driving on West Rosemary Street, reports state. According to reports, her blood alcohol content was 0.19. She was released in the custody of her roommate and is scheduled to appear in District Criminal Court on April 4, reports state.
  • A 22-year-old UNC student was involved in a collision early Tuesday and was arrested on charges of driving while impaired, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Melissa Walker, 22, of 107 Caldwell St. was driving south on North Columbia Street and hit a utility pole, police spokeswoman Jane Cousins said. Walker was taken to UNC Hospitals, Cousins said.
  • A UNC employee reported unauthorized use of her Social Security number in Texas on Tuesday, according to University police reports. The employee first noticed fraudulent use of her identification number in 2003.
  • Three UNC students reported theft at Fetzer Gym on Tuesday, according to University police reports. The students were playing basketball with a group and left their belongings by the wall during the game, reports state. When they went to leave, their possessions - including three wallets and a bag of clothes - were missing, reports state. The estimated loss for the three students totals $316, not including the values assigned to the credit cards, drivers licenses and other papers kept in the wallets, according to reports.
