Netting the records
Goal: Break the Guinness World Record for longest basketball game, which was 30 hours and 12 minutes.
Result: The record was smashed as players battled for 57 hours and 25 minutes, raising $60,000 for Hoop Dreams Basketball Academy, which serves children with life-threatening illnesses.
Goal: Break the Guinness World Record for most people dribbling in a gym at one time. The current record is 1,111 people and was set in 2006.
Result: All are invited to attempt to break the record at 3 p.m. Saturday in Carmichael Auditorium. Bring your own basketball.
