  • Police responded to an incident of trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia at 2 p.m. Monday and arrested a resident of 100 W. Rosemary St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state James Cotton, 73, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a crack pipe in his vehicle. Cotton is scheduled to appear Dec. 18 in court, reports state.
  • Reginald Reid, of 105 Hargraves St. in Carrboro, was arrested at 4:14 p.m. Monday during a traffic stop on a felony charge of possession of schedule II drugs and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The 24-year-old man was arrested at the intersection of West Rosemary Street and Mitchell Lane after police found him in possession of cocaine, according to police reports. Reports state he was released on a written promise to appear Tuesday in court.
  • An incident of automobile theft was reported at 2:22 p.m. Monday at 300 W. Rosemary St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state the car, a 2003 Lexus ES300, was parked in a parking lot and missing when the owner returned. Reports state there was a golf-club set in the car. Total damages are valued at $21,000, according to police reports.
  • An incident of breaking and entering with force was reported at 7:21 a.m. Monday at 400 Ransom St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state a subject kicked open the front door to the residence and went to sleep in the upstairs shower.
