  • Robert Eric Sanders was arrested on felony charges of possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana and the sale and distribution of marijuana, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Sanders, 19, of 1205 N. Greensboro St., was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Franklin Street and Merritt Mill Road, reports state. Police seized 26 grams of marijuana from him. He was issued an unsecured bond of $500 and is scheduled to appear Jan. 7 in court, reports state.
  • An offender struck a victim with a vehicle and then attempted to shoot him or her at Bailey's Pub and Grille, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The incident of attempted murder was reported at 1:52 a.m. Saturday at 1722 Fordham Blvd. and is under further investigation, reports state.
  • Jarrette Dewand Hayes was arrested at 4:20 p.m. Saturday on Ridgefield Road on a felony charge of possession of a schedule II drug, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Hayes, 32, of 407 Highview Drive, was found in possession of 0.7 grams of crack cocaine, reports state. Hayes is scheduled to appear today in court, reports state.
  • Someone threatened to burn down Planned Parenthood, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The incident was reported at 11:40 a.m. Saturday at 1765 Dobbins Drive, reports state.
  • There was a bomb threat reported at the 980 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., YMCA at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The incident is under further investigation, reports state.
  • Freshman Raymond Piatt was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 12:34 a.m. Sunday, according to University police reports. Piatt was found smoking marijuana in the wooded area next to Ehringhaus, reports state.
  • A UNC junior was charged with filing a false police report 12:44 p.m. Thursday, according to University police reports. David Stasiewicz claimed that his car was stolen, but after further questions admitted that his car had been towed and he was attempting to avoid paying fines, reports state.
