  • Sometime between 5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday someone went into an assisted living facility on Lanark Road, took car keys from the front desk and then used them to steal a car from the parking lot, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The white 2000 Daewoo was valued at $3,000, reports state.
  • At about 1 p.m. Monday, an unidentified person walked into the yards of two different houses on Churchill Drive and stole two ladders, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The ladders, which had a total value of $220, were later recovered, according to reports.
  • A Chapel Hill man was arrested for possession of marijuana and a fake license plate around noon on Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Corey Ronald Smith, 39, of 201 Howell St., 2C, was released later that day, reports state. Smith will appear March 3 in District Criminal Court in Chapel Hill, reports state.
  • A window at Frank Porter Graham School on Smith Level Road was vandalized sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Monday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The window, which was spray-painted, was valued at $50, according to police reports.
  • Three cell phones were reported stolen from AT&T Mobility on East Franklin Street on Tuesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Late Tuesday night someone broke into the store and took a Motorola V3x, an LG Trax and a Samsung A727, reports state. The total value of the cell phones is $867, according to police reports.
