No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB):
Federal education law that focuses on standardized testing and sets consequences for schools that do not meet achievement standards for two or more consecutive years.
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP):
Sets a minimum level of annual progress that students at school, district and state levels must meet to fulfill the requirements of NCLB. All public schools in the country must demonstrate progress against these standards.
