James Michael Shumate, 24, of Hillsborough, was arrested on drug and speeding charges just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Homestead Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Shumate faces charges of possession of 4 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and going 48 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone, reports state.
Shumate is expected in court in Chapel Hill on April 1.
