  • A UNC wrestling team member was arrested after officers saw him punching someone on the 100 block of West Rosemary Street, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Vincent Toribio Ramirez, 21, of 1111 E. Franklin St., faces misdemeanor charges of affray/assault and battery and drunk and disruptive behavior, reports state. Ramirez was released on written promise to appear in court on May 13, reports state.
  • A convicted felon was arrested after police discovered him with a handgun at 1:38 a.m. Saturday at 136 E. Rosemary St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Dwayne Rayshon Degraffenried, 27, of 5218 N.C. Highway 54, faces a felony charge of weapon possession by a felon and possession of schedule 1 drugs after police discovered him carrying Ecstacy. He also faces misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon, according to reports. He was confined at Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court today, reports state.
  • A Mebane man was arrested for assault on a government official at 8:30 p.m. Friday at 817 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Cordell Obryan Baldwin, 18, also faces a felony charge of cocaine possession with intent to sell or distribute and misdemeanor charges of drunk and disruptive behavior and resisting arrest, according to reports. Baldwin was confined at Orange County Jail at 1:04 a.m. Saturday on secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court today, reports state.
  • Someone threw a rock and hit a girl in the head, assaulting her at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at 216 N. Roberson St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • A pair of handcuffs were found at 4:37 p.m. Thursday at 300 Helmsdale Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Someone reported a suspicious phone call they received at 12:28 p.m. Friday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. An unknown caller requested assistance in changing a diaper, reports state.
