  • ?A handgun was seized at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Sykes and Craig streets, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Justin Lee Noell, 19, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed handgun, according to reports. Drug violations also were reported. Noell was in possession of crack cocaine, reports state.
  • ?Larceny from a 1999 blue Econoline van was reported at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday at 201 Howell St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. A drain snake valued at $1,300, a power drill valued at $350, a band saw valued at $700 and a 100 foot power drop cord valued at $65, were reported stolen from an unsecured abandoned vehicle.
  • ?Vandalism and willful damage to property was reported at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday at 526 Colony Woods Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage of $150 to a mailbox and wood post was reported after a vehicle struck a mailbox and left the scene, reports state.
  • ?A Chapel Hill man was arrested at 2:47 a.m. Wednesday at his home after a traffic accident, according to Chapel Hill police reports. John Powers Harrison, 21, of 1021 Dawes St., wrecked his 1999 black Chevrolet and left the scene, reports state. The police officer found the vehicle due to fluids coming out of the vehicle onto the road, reports state. Harrison faces misdemeanor charges of driving while under the influence, resisting arrest and failure to stop vehicle at an accident, according to reports. He blew a 0.12 and a 0.14 on the Intoxilyzer. Harrison posted $400 bail and is scheduled to appear in court May 27, reports state.
