  • A Chapel Hill man was arrested early Wednesday on misdemeanor charges of speeding and driving while intoxicated, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Robert Ramsey Green II, 25, of 104 York Place, had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.10 when he was arrested at 1:59 a.m. at 201 Estes Drive, according to reports. Police released Green on a written promise to appear in District Criminal Court on Oct. 28, according to reports.
  • A campaign sign was stolen from off of a tree on McCauley Street, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The sign was taken sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon and is valued at $15, reports state.
  • An incident of burglary without force and breaking and entering with larceny from a vehicle was reported Tuesday morning, according to Chapel Hill police reports. A GPS navigation system, a laptop, a Palm Pilot, credit cards, a wallet, a camera and a watch, valued at $1,959, all were reported stolen. Police recovered $1,373 worth of the stolen property, reports state. The remaining stolen property has not been recovered, and police are still investigating, according to reports.
  • An investigation into the use of fraudulent checks is ongoing after two counterfeit $70 checks were passed at the Great Clips at 1814 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. between April 10 and Aug. 7, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Officers responded to fireworks set off illegally at 10:34 p.m. Monday at the front door of a 1105 Highway 54 Bypass apartment, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
