Fundamentalists make up small dangerous minority

TO THE EDITOR:

While the decision to promote the Obsession DVD by the (Raleigh) News & Observer may have offended some is it any different than distributing a DVD about how radical fundamentalist Christians aim to force their hypocritical and twisted version of morals and Biblical teaching on the world by verbally attacking people and/or bombing abortion clinics?

I am willing to admit that there exists radical fundamentalists in my own Roman Catholic faith who drive people away from the Church and promote a misconception amongst the public about Catholicism being exclusionary and divisive.

To be fair we should enlighten people about the dangers of radical fundamentalism no matter what the denomination. At the same time we must keep in mind that most people who subscribe to a religious faith whether it be Islam Catholicism Protestantism or any other denomination are not radical fundamentalists but rather the fundamentalists represent an extreme yet dangerous minority.
