The Daily Tar Heel

North Carolina will return most of its defense for yet another year.

Juniors Marvin Austin, Kendric Burney, and Bruce Carter have all announced they will return for their senior seasons on their respective Twitter accounts.

And according to a report by ESPN.com's Joe Schad, UNC linebacker Quan Sturdivant and safety Deunta Williams will return for their senior seasons.

The decisions mean the Tar Heels will return all but two of their starters next season from the ACC's No. 1 defense in terms of yards allowed per game.

Carter is listed as the No. 19 player on Scouts INC.'s top 32 players.

Carter was second for UNC with 65 tackles in 2009. Austin has four sacks as a defensive tackle, and Burney had five interceptions and 52 tackles in 2009 as UNC went 8-5 for the second straight year. The Tar Heels finished with the No. 6 defense in the nation.
