TO THE EDITOR:
Having worked with Hogan Medlin both in and outside of student government, I am continually impressed by Medlin’s humble attitude, diligent work ethic, efficient yet conscientious leadership style and willingness to listen.
Specifically, working with Medlin on the Service N.C. initiative was both inspiring and enjoyable because of his ability to make things happen while connecting with a variety of people.
His platform is thorough, well-researched, collaborative and realistic. He has developed creative ways to improve student experiences through initiatives like the Carolina Arts Fund and the Carolina Monthly Look. But he understands the current budget constraints as well.
Medlin’s plan for improved academic advising especially resonates with me because his proposal for more personal, departmental advising would have greatly enhanced my academic experience. Having worked with the student advisory committee to Chancellor Holden Thorp, I can promise you that Medlin’s ideas for advising are feasible and will impact both current and future Carolina students.
