Will Graves led the Tar Heels with 25 points, and Deon Thompson pitched in 13 for UNC in the losing effort.
UNC (20-17) fell behind 13 points in the first half but opened the second period of play with a 12-1 run. The Flyers managed to keep their noses in front, and UNC never tied or led the game in the second half.
