Carrboro manager to retire in late summer or early fall

Carrboro Town Manager Steve Stewart has announced to the Board of Aldermen that he plans to retire in late summer or early fall.

Stewart is a native of Burlington and has been the town manager since September 2003. He was worked in local governments since March 1974 and has been a local government manager for more than 34 years in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

He said he expects to continue living in Carrboro after his retirement.

Stewart is a member of the N.C. City and County Management Association and has obtained the Credentialed Manager designation.
