Severe weather warnings threaten FallFest

See a video recap of the 15th annual UNC Fall Fest.

Amongst a sea of identical Carolina blue T-shirts, the annual freshman convocation welcomed UNC’s newest students with the addition of a pep rally to the ceremony.
The event featured a tutorial of UNC cheers and ended just as FallFest began. But uncertainty surrounded the annual event as news of severe weather came in.
“I’m definitely going to leave early if it starts to rain,” said Mary Katherine Beam, a freshman biology major, as the pep rally ended. “I’m just going for the free food, and I don’t want my food to get rained on.”
But the festivities proceeded despite the warnings, allowing the class of 2015 to experience the annual rite of passage.
