The Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. to receive the report from the independent academic review conducted by former Gov. Jim Martin, according to a news release sent out Friday.
Chancellor Holden Thorp called on Martin to conduct the review in August, which was assisted by consulting firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLC.
The review is the University’s broadest attempt at finding the root of the academic irregularities that have surfaced since a joint University and NCAA investigation into the football program in 2011.
Martin and Raina Rose Tagle, a partner at Baker Tilly, will present the report. Later that day, Martin and Rose Tagle will meet with the UNC Board of Governors Academic Review Panel at 1:30 at the Spangler Center.
The review results will be presented more than two months later than anticipated, as Oct. 11 was the original goal.
