Word On The Street: How do you like your coffee?

Bryson Penley

In the air there’s a rich aroma, and everywhere there’s the dense, musical sound of grinding beans… that can mean only one thing: it’s National Coffee Day

In honor of the holiday Friday, staff writer Whit Denton asked UNC students, “How do you take your coffee?”

First-year Bryson Penley

History major

“I like my coffee to be strong, dark roast, black and free trade. Above anything, I really prefer Americano because of the rush you get from the espresso. I really, really like coffee.”

First-year Elliott Chandler

Math major

“I don’t like coffee. I like tea.”

Senior Mohit Chandi

Public health major

“I take my coffee with milk and sugar because it reminds me of chai, which is Indian tea. Sometimes I drink it black, but not usually.”

Sophomore Lauren Moore

Pre-nursing

“I don’t drink coffee. I wouldn’t drink it for the caffeine, I’d drink it for the taste, and there are better drinks around.”

First-year Ryan Holmes

English major

“Straight black. I don’t ever put anything in it. It just tastes better that way.”
