Kooley High mixtapes, albums and documentary

If you haven't checked out the feature on ambitious Raleigh hip-hop group Kookey Highin today's print edition, do it. Now. Otherwise, we've got some treats we couldn't fit in the paper including some mixtape downloads and a stream of the Kooley High documentary.

Documentary:

"One Day - Introducing Kooley High"

If you missed this at the beginning of the year, what better time than now to watch it. It's only, like, 30 minutes long and directed by Napolean Wright III of BECAUSEUS, the same guy behind the boards on Tabloids and the camera on "Kooley is High." Phonte of Little Brother approves and included it in his "Movie in a Minute" series.

Mixtapes:

Kooley High  - Kooley is High

This first dropped back in March and Diversions is still playing this one. Hosted by K-Salaam, this is some straight up good music. There's also a new video for "Kooley Is High," down below.

Charlie Smarts - f'alex

The first in the trilogy of solo albums to come from the three emcees, f'alex is nice. And yes, this is an album, and it plays much better than a lot of hip-hop albums you can find. Watch Charlie's video for KiD CuDi's "Sky Might Fall (Remix)."

Tab-One - The Tabloids

Besides the great coverart, Tabloids features Tab's smooth rhymes over smoother beats by Foolery, Napolean Wright III and Ka$h. The second installment in the triolgy of albums.
