First up this week is the new video from Raleigh's Bowerbirds. The clip for "Northern Lights," just about the best song on last year's Upper Air, debuted today over at Pitchfork.com. A calm and beautiful set of images, the clip sets Phil Moore's incredible love song to a rustic setting complete with a piano and guitar performance and a spin around a lake at what appears to be dawn. These guys really dig nature. Like a lot.
Passion Pit made a video for "Little Secrets" last year, but this week they're back with another video, this time featuring the band members themselves putting on a show for a bunch of people wearing paper bags on their heads who all seem pretty happy, all things considered...
Shearwater has just put out their first music video for their latest album, The Golden Archipelago, and it's not a bad start. Watch a scarecrow-man hybrid with mutant eyelashes travel a barren wasteland and engage in a tense hostage exchange (the hostages in question are a pair of puppies).
This last video only needs one sentence to convince you to watch it. RZA, Jake Gyllenhaal, a Jonas Brother and Lil John, all involved in a tense tennis match of epic proportions.
